classes should not be required. if homework is optional, and you make classes required, they could just not do the hw, so their name is on the class list, but they dont do anything. so its just like adding their name on the list and thats it

the problem is, sometimes their house has no points and they don't do anything. teachers barely ever email me anymore saying someone earned points.

thats because teachers dont go on very much. you said a long time ago that teachers should go on the comp once a month, and update their website, which shouldnt be too hard.

A note to icesk8monkey. I am one of those teachers. In my classes, it is not that simple. I am currently working on a lesson that is taking me a ton of research so that I can accurately present the facts.

so basically now the teachers have to do the research instead of the students-lol!

The vast majority participate

homework in arianhrod's classes was optional from the start, and many people joined to get points by doing homework. there's no other reason to join a class.

Ana, since you believe that there's no reason for joining a class other than getting points for doing the homework, as homework is optional, why should classes be required. According to the view you expressed above, being forced to take a class but not doing homework would be pointless.

I agree, making classes mandatory but making homework is optional is kinda silly. and Ana teachers have to GET homework from students in order to e-mail you about housepoints. I ahven't gottne any homework in a while but I figured that i was probably because the active people had done it all already so i set up lesson three. ahve you checked to see if teachers have been updating homework assignements?

i actually do the homework myself, so yes, i do check. the problem is people not active enough.
