In the hwh policy debate, we are beginning to drift off subject into a debate about separate house boards, so I decided to move that here. Should houses have separate boards, or should they remain part of the general HWH boards?

i think that each house should have a seperate board. they can get into the spirit of their house by decorating their forum with their house colors and symblols. they have more space for chat in the common room, announcements on a seperate board, more space for quidditch practice, and they can rp freely and hold parties. I do not think other houses will find the url unless they sneak into the common room, so it's a good idea. it was originally art mage dite's idea, so if we do use it, i think we shold award hufflepuff some points.

I don't think it is necessicary, because very few people use the house boards. If they were more popular, it would be a good idea to give people space, but no space is needed when it's not that big of a deal. Hardly anything goes on at Hufflepuff board, except for the debate about a new board. lol! I don't think we should have a separate board, until we need it.

i think we should have more things up to the members meaning we should have polls. some people prefer that to debates.

Well, there's no reason to go on the normal boards. There's nothing to do there. With many boards and stuff, people can expand and use various ideas they have and such. Like, with me, I get more ideas for a whole forum than I do a message board, because there is more room for creativity. With a normal board, some ideas won't work, or won't be as good as in a whole forum. And somethings get annoying to see on a board.
Like I found these sites that we could use to make hufflepuff dolls, but if a whole bunch of people post on one, some people won't feel like reading them all, or something, and we'd have to use multiple links to show them off, and I don't think people enjoy lots of links, with new windows and such. But, if we had a seperate thread for each, it would bother people to be looking for private debates and such, and see a bunch of DollMaker topics.
With a forum, we could have a Dollmaker board, and a Private Debate board and such.
And she's right about the colors. We could do that for each board, but that would take a lot of work, or asking someone to do it, then we'd have to wait for them, and check on it, and see if we like it, and go through the depressing part of telling someone that, though they helped, you dislike the colors and such, and asking them to do it again, or someone else, or doing it yourself and such... you have to do lots of html for boards having their own colors.
~~~Added~~~ I'll make the hufflepuff board. If we end up using it, I'll give the url, but if not, there's a thing that says delete board, and we could use that. Or I could just save it until later....I'm just bored right now.
I agree with ldragontongue. Unless people start using their common room boards, we do not need to create a forum for them. I do not think that people have stopped posting on their house boards because the topics aren't "creative" enough. Also, if we did have new forums, how do you know people would use them. Maybe we should make a poll that asks if people would be more inclined to use their house forums than house boards.
Well, I still think an orderly area would be good. And I've already started on it, but it does still need some work, so I'll wait for you all, and just work on it, for when you're all ready.
there IS a poll in the hufflepuff common room and four people have said yes. i dont' think trying would kill anyone. we can try one board(for one house)and if we loke it we'll put it in the policy and make one for each house. like dite said, if it does't work, we can always delete it.
I think it sounds fun! I think it is a good idea, maybe more people would go to there houses if they had a bigger place for there house.
+, if these existed, the secret agency would have more space.
I don't really think that "more space" would cause anyone to go to the agency boards. NO ONE can think of something to do in them. I agree, though, that we should try one board. The moderator for that house should be in charge of reporting what is happening with it here.
Well, I'll also help report. I thought of it, and I'm the administrator (Username: admin) and I've started working on it. I'm starting on the boards, now.
i think the head of house should also play a large role on these boards. however, hufflepuff doesn't yet have a house head, so we need one.
