ok, lately i've been looking at classes and thinking about it, and some of the classes seem to easy, with all the links and hints. i know you have to follow the policy and make classes short and way too easy, but i was thinking that some people like challenges and more difficult classes..so i was thinking of having O.W.L or N.E.W.T. level classes, that would be harder, so students who want a challenge can sign up. what do you think?

I think that the point of extra credit is to give that extra challenge to students who want it. Why not make an easy lesson and then make the extra credit like a whole new lesson, and dedicate most of your time to comming up with interesting extra credit lessons that provide the challenge you would like. That's what extra credit is there for. If you find that people want to do extra credit but don't because they don't feel like doing the lesson, then maybe we could debate wether or not to take that section out of educational decree number 1.

but sometimes to do extra credit you need to finish the lesson or it wouldn't make sense, or sometimes something difficult would work as a lesson alone, and not as extra credit. again, we always have different opinions but no one debates, so it's difficult to decide. we should ask members.

Well, we can keep that in section in then. It was just a thought. I don't care. I just don't think challenge lessons are necissicary when there is already E.C.

i think we shoudl have higher level classes, like O.W.L level-it would be more interesting, and be more hogwarts-like. you don't have to join them, but i'm sure other people will.

well I think it's a good idea. 'cause it would be more hogwarts-like, and isn't that what we're or ana's trying to do? so, yeah I think that there should be o.w.l like lessons or classes or whatever. but i don't know if all the teacher's would be ok with that.

well, the teachers that teach the classes right now don't have to teach their o.w.l class-i could do that and there are opeople who wanna be teachers.

Ana, if you're so concerned about this, why don't we just rename extra credit "o.w.l or n.e.w.t question?" It would have the same end result. In all seriousness, though, until teachers put effort into their regular classes, advanced classes are out of the question.
Also, as a teacher, let me say that there is enough to do already managing regular classes. I do not want to feel like I should worry about advanced classes too.
Ana, if you want more challenging homework classes, try inviting your students to think a little. Don't just make lessons straight out of the book. Look at my History of Magic lesson, or the Muggle Studies lesson for ideas of how to do this. Make them draw parallels with things in their everyday lives.

well, if i make a class too difficult, it usually doesnt' meet the time limit and then YOU get on my case.my point is, extra credit is just no fun, having a different lesson would be more interesting. it's more hogwarts like, and that's what we're trying to have. hwh is all about having fun, and being an RPG thats' different. and that's what these classes would accomplish. you dont' have to teach that advanced class, there are plenty of members who wanna teach a class that's already taken. as for renaming the extra credit, ti will still be extra credit.

Ana, you can do whatever you want with extra credit. If you want to write a completely different lesson and put it on a different part of your site and call it extra credit, that's fine.

ok, didn't get what you said. but anyway, seeing as it's 2 on 2 we should get the opinions of more people. but i think it would be more interesting with more difficult classes. It would just be more fun.

Ana, if people want a challenge, they do extra credit. That's what it's there for!

then they first have to do the lesson. and if we make it so you dont' have to do the lesson before extra credit, ti would make no sense. then teacher would just have extra credit unrelated to the lesson. sometimes extra credit isn't enough, and teachers don't always make extra credit. it would just be more INTERESTING, but of course you never wanna try anything new, and you never let me add anything new to my site cuz you need to add it to the policy first.

Ana, that's unfair and nasty.
We can alter the policy to say that you do not need to do the lesson before you do extra credit unless the two are linked and therefore make it necessary.

ok, you can alter that but you are still int hem inority(or at least it is a tie). i want HWH to be more like hogwarts. therefore i will be making those classes. i am the webmistress, and if i have the authority to actually teach classes, then i am going to start those classes, because if i'm limited in just about everything, i will simply GIVE UP, because there's almost nothing i can do without being questioned.
