I don't know how someone can't send chain mail "on purpose"

i mean, yes you can accidentally click a name in your adress book but then be more careful, i've been very unhappy with some things i've bene getting.

I agree with that, but, if that's the case, the person who sent it should send another email apologizing.

however, some people go "oops" but then do the "oops" again.

As I said before, they should send another email explaining that.

Why, may I ask, is everyone from HWH in someone's address book anyway? However, maybe some people are like that. Anyways, it's really not that easy to click the wrong person without then noticing it. Just tell people to be careful, that's all. We can't have people sending chains then apploging, then sending more chians, etc. We need to be though on this issue. That's just how it works.

I agree, but it is possible that it was a genuine mistake, so if should be left up to the receipiant to decide whether or not to report it.

how they get into other people's' adress books is, i send a newsletter(which is perfectly legal)and people see all the emails it is sent to and know it's people from hwh and send them chains. or perhaps they go on the fourms. some are their teachers and when they write them a message, it automatically goes in their adress book(that's what i do). but i don't click every name like some poeple.

Right. Once I send someone one or two e-mails it's put in automatically. Once I accidently sent someone an e-mail that was for my friend. But, if someone continues to 'accidently' send chainletters, without appologizing well...you know! They can't do that. Expecially if the person doesn't want chainletters.

basides, most people say sorry just so that they seem nice but don't really mean it, and they continue to send stupid chains.

Yeah. Exactly. Even though that hasn't happened to me.

That is why it should be left up to the judgement of the recipient to decide when enough is enough. They will be able to tell whether or not the sender is really making mistakes.

however, we need some clear destinction between sending someone a chain as a friend or as an hwh member. like if you're an inactive member, should it count? that HAS happened.

If you know the sender personally, then it does not apply to HWH, as this issue is the result of people using the emails they find out on the site to send chain mail. If you do not like a friend sending you chain mail, you need to get them to stop without resorting to HWH rules. i.e. if Ldragontongue sendt me chain mail (which she doesn't) I would have to deal with it on my own because she knows my email from outside of HWH.
